Ye olde boring pattern

Growing up in the 70s and 80s, in addition to numerous life-threatening encounters
with quicksand, and evil tiki idols in Hawaii like what happened to the Brady
Bunch, I really thought I'd have to deal with lots of ring around the collar when
I grew up. And only a magical substance called "Wisk" could save you from it!

I don't know what magical advances we made in collars that prevents rings around
them, but I'm very thankful, if not a bit disappointed it never became "a thing."
Being used to disappointment, I guess I can get over this...winter, or whatever
you want to call it, that we're having. Where's the snow? I really expected snow
to be "a thing" by now, or at least be in sight. We've had some, especially up
in the Panhandle, but down my way only a melt-as-it-falls small dose.

But then why gripe about snow when you can't even get rain? Here we go again
on another extended dry spell, so soon after breaking it in some places from
SW through NE OK. Other places, it's going on about 2 months without significant
moisture.

Even after that bit of rain last week that brought a dose of tornadoes with it,
we're still mired in the 3rd-driest winter thus far at least in the last 100+
years. For SE OK, it's THE driest.

Thus, we have continuing drought.

And fire danger.

Our best hope for some relief appears to be 9-10 days out, darned near in
fantasy-cast territory, but close enough for fingers-crossed hopes.

Wait, I wonder if somebody rubbed Wisk on my head as a kid??
