It's here

Yes, we're officially at the 4-way stop of seasons in Oklahoma, when we can get
summer, fall, spring, and summer fighting it out to see who takes control. We had
the summer this weekend with darned near 100 in SW OK, the 2nd-highest temperature
ever recorded for an Oct. 12, and more sun than you could handle.

Well, we've basically had that since May, but who's counting (me...it's my job!)?
Then we get winter coming up Wednesday morning with the top figure. Now some
would say we get our first freezes (and frosts) in the fall, so it should be fall.

I sez winter. BRRRRRRRR!

Then we get a true fall Wednesday afternoon after that wintry morning with highs
in the 60s.

Spring, you say? Well, maybe some severe weather action this weekend. It's tough
to say since the storm system we're thinking about is still off the West Coast
of these here United States...way out in fact. And as we've warned before, the
storms that far out can definitely change. Right now we see indications of a
cutoff low, and you know what they say about those.

Yes (and watch your mouth!), but also "Cutoff Low, Forecaster's Woe." And of
course, chaos is still entwined with the forecast models that far out.

Heck, we just need the rain! Right now it's starting to look like a High Plains
event mostly.

With that cold front tomorrow, and all the drought around, wildfire danger will
be on the increase thanks to the low humidity and gusty winds.

Things are gonna get a bit hairy from here on out as the jet stream starts to dip
back down our way, bringing cold fronts and storm systems and whatnot. Gone
(probably) are the flirtations with 100 degrees and endless days of 90s for
highs. HOWEVER, don't put it past Oklahoma to "Oklahoma" us a time or two.
