No sprinkles
You don't need a diet, Oklahoma...you need a change of menu. How about we skip
the donuts and go for the donut holes? Well, actually EVERYBODY needs rain right
now as we have made the spring transition about a month ago it seems like. Even
farther back, really.
Added to the heat, lots of no rain. Uhhhh, lots of a lack of rain. Errrrr...okay,
me no good writer.
Lots of dry weather!
Add a reinvigorated jet stream bringing frontal systems our way, mostly dry
frontal systems, and you have springtime fire danger in place for the next
few days. At least in advance of Thursday's cold front. Especially tomorrow,
which is Wednesday as I write this ("forgive me if it goes astray"...sing with
me, Prince fans!), but today as well.
To top it off, eastern OK could have quite the significant severe weather day
Thursday as the front approaches, with ALL severe hazards possible. You know,
the usual lineup...severe winds, large hail, flooding, tornadoes, "Madam Web"
showings.
My climatologist's intuition tells me that we might be on the way to one of
those triple-digit days without significant rain up in the High Plains of
Oklahoma. I hope it's not true.
Flash drought watch continues.
