A Fairview of the Heart




Hey, did you know our knew (if you new you'd now) Fairview Mesonet site is up and
running? From what I understand, the previous site was overrun with howler monkeys
and giant wombats, but then again I understand very little so that might be
incorrect. However, we did need to move from our previous Fairview site, with its
site ID of FAIR, and so now we have our new location, site ID of FAI2.

Now if we ever have to move it again, I'm gonna lobby for a site ID of FAI4,
because three's a crowd, and we like our Mesonet sites unencumbered.

The site is located at 36.317190°, -98.552250°, and sites 1,332 ft above Mean
Sea Level. Nothing worse that dealing with Mean Sea Level, what with its glares
and bullying social media posts, but I digress. Here's a topside view of the
site's location...like I said, unencumbered.



The site has been officially reporting data since 9:00 p.m. on Nov. 14, 2023, its
initial temperature reading at 1.5m was 52.3F, with a wind speed of 8.8 mph. In
its short life, it has measured a top temperature of 73F on Nov. 15, and a
lowest temperature of 18F on Nov. 16, with a top wind speed of 39.5 mph on
Dec. 7. Boy is that all going to change!





The site is currently enjoying a lovely cold front passage, or FROPA in
meteorological jargon.



Yeah, try and figure out what you're gonna have for lunch!
