Saddy Droughtsgiving
I'm off all this week (when have I ever been "on"??), but I just had to Tick
today to give you my favorite Thanksgiving recipe:
Cherry Pop-Tart Glazed Turkey Extravaganza
Ingredients:
* 1 whole turkey (size of your choice)
* 1 box of Cherry Pop-Tarts
* 1 cup melted butter
* 1/2 cup maple syrup
* 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
* Salt and pepper to taste
* Fresh herbs for garnish (rosemary, thyme, and sage work well)
I'll let you make up the directions yourself, but I'll clue you in on the
stuffing!
Cherry Pop-Tart Stuffing:
Unwrap the Cherry Pop-Tarts and break them into small pieces. Stuff the turkey
cavity with the Pop-Tart pieces, creating a sweet surprise for your guests.
Mmm-mmm good!
Oh, the weather? Yeah, still dry for most of us. We did get a decent rain over
parts of the state over the weekend.
But we're still way too dry across much of northern and western OK.
Not much coming up either.
Thanksgiving Day should be nice and mild with clear skies and lots of sunshine.
A big front through that night will drop us back into the 40s for highs and
20s and 30s for lows. It will be a return to freezing weather for a bunch of
us since early in November, possibly.
As for the possible snow this weekend for NW OK and the Panhandle? Well, the
forecast models seem to be apathetic to those wanting to break out the sleds,
but that could change as the storm is still well out in the Pacific. It's not
*LIKELY*, but it ain't hopeless yet either!
Looks like the rest of the month will be on the cool side, so bring on December,
whatever it will...uhhhh, bring.
A word of caution on stuffing a cavity with Pop-Tarts...we all know just how
painful that can be.
Happy Thanksgiving!
