Cool Hand Drought

Ya know, it saddens me to see old classics like "Cool Hand Luke" disappear from
popular culture. It also saddened me to see my scalp APPEAR more often. So what
do you do about both? Well, all I'll say is nobody needs to see a meme about my
hair, so if you haven't seen the movie ("Cool Hand Luke," NOT "Bald Head Gary"),
get out to see it while it's still in the theaters.

Sure, this ain't Shakespeare today, but what else do ya expect when we're
in such a boring weather pattern? And I know boring...I'M A CLIMATOLOGIST!

How do you keep a climatologist in suspense?

Tell him in a month when you average all the punchlines together.

HAHA!

Told ya...borrrrringgg!

Anyway, our dry spell has hit 60 days for parts of NW OK and the Panhandle, and
there isn't much sign of it letting up anytime soon.

The 30-day rainfall maps from the Mesonet are particularly dreary, as you can
tell from the top map. Zero percent of normal is (crunching numbers furiously...)
ZERO! And that's what Boise City, Eva, and Hooker have received over that
30-day period.

The forecast models have some decent rain pegged for eastern OK (indecent rain
should be reported...see something say something!), but not much for western OK.
All of this falls between Saturday night and Tuesday morning.

Want some imaginary excitement? How about some SNOW on the fantasy-cast 06Z
American Model (GFS) run for the end of November, at least across northern OK?

That will definitely disappear. The 06Z run of the GFS model routinely spits
out lovely exciting weather that promptly disappears on the 12Z run, so don't
get your hopes up.

What does 06Z and 12Z mean?

How do you keep Ticker readers in suspense...
