Rainy Season Day 1
Okay, so day one (AP style, or I'd have said "day 1") of our supposed WEEK OF
SPRING (Copyright to "the Ticker," granted by the U.S. Surgeon General...hey, I
don't know how the copyright system works!). I also understand folks are getting
riled up about the weather not following the forecasts exactly. Please forward all
complains to our complaint departmet, pictured here.
Complaint Depart"met" for meteorology...get it? Don't blame me, I'm a
climatologist! As with any forecast, we're talking chances here, and the chance
for rain today resides with our friends to the north in Kansas and their ability
to generate storms. If storms get going and the proper conditions occur, we could
see a Mesoscale Convective System, or a great big glob of thunderstorms (yes,
that's official science speak) could move down into northern Oklahoma and bring
some rain with the possibility of large hail and high winds as well. The tornado
threat is very low, BUT NOT ZERO.
Here is the possible precip for this system today into later tonight. Not much,
but it'd be a nice start to a wet week, but maybe not a nice day for a white
wedding if you're listening, Billy Idol.
As you can see, this whole thing is pretty much a far northern OK event, and
don't be shocked if it turns out to be a non-event, either. That's as far as I'm
gonna go on this forecast, we'll take a look at tomorrow's chances, uhhhhh,
tomorrow. Here's a preview of tomorrow's action (OR non-action) thrown in.
We have a new person starting in the complaint departmet tomorrow...looks pretty
promising so far.
