Fantasy-cast time!

Go easy, okay? I'm trying desperately to find something exciting to talk about
with our weather. Oh, drought? Yeah, real exciting! Yes, we're still in drought,
even after yesterday's rainfall. For the last 18 months. Still in drought.

Outlooks? Oooh, scintillating! Here, let's talk about increased odds of above normal
temperatures, below normal precipitation, and drought persistence through April!
Pinch me, I'm dreaming.

Might as well talk about my hair growing back. Wait...now I'm REALLY dreaming. Give
me a moment.

So we go with a snow fantasy-cast through early next week. Some of that snow falls
this weekend, mostly up in the far NW and the Panhandle.

But the rest of that would be snow on Monday and Tuesday. If it happened. Which
it won't. That would be too much excitement, right? Lots of reasons it won't...
storm will go too far south, or north. Not enough cold air. Not enough moisture
available. That's how droughts work, you know. We were given a gift yesterday.
Well, some of us were.

Still, way too many are continuing to plod along with no significant daily
precipitation to speak of.

All in all, not a horrible forecast. I mean, there is SOME moisture available,
regardless of a cold rain, a mix, or snow.

And there are those that know about such things (nah, not me...I stick to things
I *DO* know, like useless hairbrushes and "Roadhouse" quotes) are seeing signs
of the disruption of the polar vortex recurring as we get into February (think
about the cold blasts of December 2022 and February 2022...not going to February
2021).

Hmmm, I'll take our current weather, come to think of it.
