Insomniac
Boy, we hate when we're right (so we don't hate often), but like we figured, yet
another round of lovely severe thunderstorms struck overnight into this morning,
bringing winds of 60-80 mph, torrential flooding rains, and large hail. The
advisories page is lit up like a Christmas tree...you remember, Christmas? When
it felt like June?
Yeah, wake up indeed. Some would say this is good sleeping weather, except for
your windows busting in with golf ball size hail blasting through on 80 mph
winds. If you can sleep through that, you might check your pulse. And those winds
have been indiscriminately (SPELLED IT RIGHT MY FIRST ATTEMPT!) severe throughout
western Oklahoma today and yesterday. Eva had an 88 mph wind last night on a
tornado-warned storm, and Washington had an 82-er yesterday, but lots of 60-70+
mph winds scattered about.
And the rain has been substantial, with very efficient rain-makers rumbling
through the state.
Butler already added on to its 8 months worth of rain in 7 days deal with another
couple of inches last night, giving them an astounding 10.66 inches of rain in
the last 8 days, and Weatherford isn't far behind at 9.22 inches. And how about
Eva up there in the Panhandle with 2.99 inches last night?
Alright (alright alright), one more overnight rumblefest tonight into tomorrow
morning then we calm down for quite a while, hopefully drying out a bit.
I keep updating the rainfall maps above because the rain is still blasting away,
so I'll end it there with these words of advice: Benadryl, and lots of it.
