Bigfoot Day!
Well, it's all over but the shouting (snowing and icing, really) now, folks, as
we await our wintry fate. Heavy snow is falling across northwestern OK, freezing
rain, sleet and snow is headed up I44 from NW TX, and SE OK braces for a
don't-say-catastrophic-but-it-might-be ice storm later today through tomorrow.
Not only that, but the REALLY cold air is yet to make it here. Most of the
state is in a WINTER STORM WARNING and we have a WIND CHILL ADVISORY for the
western 2/3rds of the state from 6pm tonight until 6pm Thursday for wind chills
(DUH! Now why would they name it "Wind Chill Advisory" and have it be for
flooding??) down to minus 5 to minus 15 degrees.
Parts of the state will approach 10 inches of snow, and SE OK could see a half-inch
of ice accumulation.
I guess all there is to do now is to hunker down (much better than down
hunkering, which will get you arrested) and ride it out. All preparations should
be wrapping up shortly.
And remember, Poteau Pete says spring arrives early!
