Everybody's waiting for...
SHHH! Listen, do you smell that? I sense spring in the air. Yeah, 6 months
(3? 4? 2?) from now, but I just can't bring myself to say it's a return to fall.
That might seem weird, especially since it IS fall, but once we hit 40s for highs
and 30s for lows, I'm saying it's winter. That leaves spring, next up. It won't
stay that way for too long, of course, but after another freeze for parts of the
state this morning. we'll take some 70s and 80s this weekend. I say "we" as the
non-royal "we," meaning I'm dragging all the rest of you along with me. Now I say
"me" as the royal me, since I'm obviously the only person that matters, I sound
like royalty.
We have also received help on the flash drought front over the last month. Some
pretty hefty rains across much of eastern Oklahoma has dragged that part of the
state out of drought conditions for the most part, although there are still a
few stragglers. Much more area of drought across the western half of the state.
And here are the rain maps for the last 30 days to show the reason for the
improvements.
That moisture has led to massive reductions across eastern Oklahoma, and a few
other places to the west, over the last month.
Unfortunately, eastern OK is really the only part of the state forecast to
get decent moisture in the next 7 days.
Looks like this warm weather will stick around for at least another week, but
we have to get my tomorrow morning first, when it's gonna be another chiller.
If we could just squeeze this out until March, that'd be awesome, right? No?
Well, don't make me get all royal on ya.
