2021!

Okay, who had "severe weather outbreak" on their 2021 crazy weather pool?

"Crazy weather pool," that describes my thought process 24-7, but I digress.
Severe weather outbreaks are not unheard of during October, but come on, really?
As many as 10 tornadoes may have touched down up and down the I44 corridor last
night. Norman gets blasted by large hail for the second time in 6 months, with
some folks still waiting for the damage from April to get repaired. Power outages
across the state. Need we go on?

And then some dad-blamed fool went and ordered another round for tomorrow night?
At least it doesn't look quite as significant as yesterday's fun, but give it
time, right?

It would appear as of the most current computer runs (I hate when that happens)
that northwest Oklahoma will be the focal point this time. Only a 5% risk of
tornadoes tomorrow, but that could go up, of course. We really don't want to
add to our twister totals, however. If the NOAA folks do verify 10, that would
put October ONE BEHIND May's total of 11. At least we don't look like we'll
match 1998's record October total of 27 with an Autumn super-outbreak on
Oct. 4 and lots of F2-F3 tornadoes plowing up the state.

What we did get that was beneficial from this ridiculousness yesterday was
much needed rainfall.

Some of that is drought-quenching moisture, and hopefully we'll get a dose
in western OK where they desperately need it WITHOUT the fireworks of yesterday.
We'll see rain chances extend into Wednesday right through Friday with some
decent moisture showing up across the state, but again more plentiful across
eastern Oklahoma. It's okay, that's climatology.

I keep making this joke about another Halloween ice storm by with 2021 zaniness
in full effect, maybe I'm aiming too low.
