Ruh roh!

Yeah, that's vintage Scooby Doo, not this crap!

Are you kidding me? Who wants to plop down on a Saturday morning with a bowl of
Cap'n Crunch (Crunch Berries for you?? Wow, must be nice to be rich!) and watch
that version? Oh, there aren't any cartoons on Saturday morning anymore?

BALDERDASH!

Pardon me for being cantanckeru...cantankero...grumpy, but when you see that
your lovely April is about to get FebruMarched, it's a bit much to take. Maybe
we can escape a late freeze...maybe. I'm hoping there is enough moisture around
to help keep those low temperatures a bit better insulated from 32 degrees.

Remember, next week we will be well past the average last freeze for much of the
state (sorry, Panhandle), and approaching latest last freeze territory.

It's enough for the CPC to put our area in a "slight" chance of much below
normal temperatures.

Something to watch, at least. I'd say the Panhandle might hold true to form and
approach that freezing mark, but the rest of us stay above the fray. That's a
long way out for guesstimating, however, and it is springtime in Oklahoma, so
be prepared for anything.

Speaking of being prepared, storm chances go up tomorrow down south, right in a
place that needs some rain. The trouble is, as is often the case during spring,
there might be some severe weather with it. Folks down that way will need to
be alert with a decent chance of wind and large hail. The tornado risk is low,
but certainly not zero.

They definitely need more rain than this...

because of this.

That's a huge area of moderate/severe drought added to the map, and abby normal
dry conditions as well.

We've had so many dry and windy fire danger-ish type of days, it was bound
to cause conditions to deteriorate. Our spring has been quite dry across the
SE half of the state thus far, at a time when our rain totals should be on the
increase. That hasn't happened this spring, and we've now gone more than 2 weeks
without a good rain over much of the state.

Other than all that good news, enjoy the weekend. Sunday might be the last good
spring day for awhile.

Good and hot, that is!
