WHEEEE!!
WHEEEEE! Ohhhhhhh. No, that's not me looking at the temperature map. I dreamed I
had a full head of hair, then I just remembered reality. Not that I'm not excited
about the next three days of spring weather. And the end of the weekend isn't
TOO bad. Certainly not as bad as the end of last week, which saw the northwestern
half of the state experience one of those dreaded April freezes. See the maps
below if you need a grim reminder.
Yikes! And that might not be the last freeze we see. If you want to see something
REALLY scary (no, not my scalp!), check out the temperature outlook for April
11-15, which starts at the end of this weekend.
Yikes again! Now maybe that cold air will halt at Kansas? As you can see, the
CPC outlook hazardous temperature risk map, much of Oklahoma is under a "slight"
risk of much below normal minimum temperatures, although that moderate risk
is right at our border with Kansas.
We won't know what damage if any to the state's ag producers and urban farmers
alike from that cold snap, but we don't want to see another freeze in the middle
of April when those plants are even further along.
As for precipitation chances, don't expect too much over the next few days.
Maybe some showers in southern Oklahoma today, then after the front moves
through Wednesday night into the early weekend. Not a lot of moisture with any
of these chances, however.
In anticipation of next week's possible plunge back to winter (okay, late
winter), better enjoy the next few days outside. Things are ALREADY looking up.
Now, back to dreaming of that full head of hair...
