Marginally marginal
Be glad it's not April, and especially May, or we'd be in for tons of fun this
week, and by fun I mean NOT fun. Then why did I write it that way? Well, some
people are good with words...me, not good words with am I. But we are getting into
more of an active pattern as far as the weather goes, in conjunction with the
crossover into spring. Several storm systems and fronts will go along with
ample moisture and just enough heat to create a MARGINAL risk for severe weather
over the next several days, generally across eastern Oklahoma. Now any storm that
goes up in Oklahoma needs to be watched, but this doesn't look like we're in
much danger. Maybe some wind and hail. As we get into Friday and Saturday,
there will be a stronger system on the way with a little more heat to work with,
and good moisture return. So that system will have to be watched, and be watched
it will as it draws closer.
The active week does mean we might have a chance to dent some of those dry areas,
although we have at least wet the topsoil in the southwest, which was much
needed. Settled the dust, if you will (and if you won't).
Speaking of heat, we will see a gradual warm up through Thursday before that
weekend system comes in and cools things down either behind a cold front, or
just from the clouds and rain that are expected. But Thursday definitely looks
like spring.
So let's keep our eye on the sky for the next week or so. Practice for when
things get really serious. Of course, when is it NOT serious in Oklahoma?
