BORRRRINNNGGGG

When leaves turning color and dropping off trees, fire danger, and mostly dry
cold fronts are your claim to game, you're boring. Sorry fall, but that's the
unmitigated truth. And that's what we have in store for us. Oh, I suppose those
cold fronts are somewhat exciting for a little bit, but the aftermath is "BLAH."

Wow, we have temperatures starting out in the 30s and 40s, how autumnal of you,
Mother Nature! Well, it's a bit below normal, so I guess that's somewhat exciting?
No, it's not. For us warm weather aficionados, it's downright excruciating.
Lucky for me (maybe not you, but I'm what counts...Gary McManus, State Narcissist
of Oklahoma) the temperatures are gonna rebound over the next few days before
our next boring cold front on Sunday.

Here's some late summer/early fall for ya.

Chance of rain Friday and again on Sunday with the front, and we do need the
rain. Last 30-60 days show deficits starting to mount, especially in the
Panhandle and central Oklahoma.

Unfortunately, very little is forecast for those areas, either this week or
the next.

And we are entering that time of year where rain doesn't matter as much for
fire danger. Vegetation is starting to go dormant and die, so day-to-day
weather conditions matter more than any moisture causing a green up. And so
we now have fire weather concerns, and any day with some wind, low humidity
and above normal temps is gonna keep that fire danger elevated.

When it comes to wildfires, boring is good!
