Boy Named Drought

"My name is Drought! How do you do? Now you gonna DRY!"

Boy, talk about hitting a niche audience. Okay youngsters, go look up "Boy Named
Sue," probably the greatest Johnny Cash song in his immense collection. Okay,
remember, I'm a movie guy. But with the heat dome fixing to (Okie for "preparing
to") move back over the Southern Plains, our burgeoning (non-Okie for "growing")
flash drought problem is only going to get worse before it gets better. Just to
the east of the expanding area of deficits, some great rains fell. To the west,
more drying weather continued for the most part.

Highs will soar back up close to or above triple-digits later this week and stay
there for awhile.

There *MIGHT* be a sign of some pattern changes going into next week, but that's
still a bit iffy. We've seen these changes show up on the forecasts several
times and they continue to end up being duds for the western half of the state.

No more drought. We don't need the gravel in the gut or the spit in our eye.

Too dry.
