And the heat goes on
Well, we did it for Johnny Cash earlier, so why not lionize another great 70s
musical act? Okay, how about Sonny and Cher instead?
...pausing while all 3 Sonny and Cher fans fire off angry e-mails.
Yes, before Beyonce and JayZ, there was Sonny and Cher...two great musical
giants. Okay, one musical giant and Sonny. Let's just move on. My ears are
starting to ring just talking about this.
Summer is still here, obviously, something it is wont to do during early August.
Highs today will be up into the 100s across the western half of the state, with
heat indices up to 110 across most areas. Enough so that a heat advisory blankets
nearly the entire state.
It's important for those sensitive to the heat to take precautions. Staying
indoors and turning the AC on is the best case scenario. But also remember if
you do go outdoors, try not to breathe as we have an ozone alert for Oklahoma
City today, and the air quality is none too great over most of the state.
For the good news, we DO have chances of rain over the next week, with those
heavier forecast amounts starting to show up more and more in Oklahoma. So far,
just the far northeast, but we hope we can start trending that down to the
southwest as time goes by.
I was going to say the rain chances start tonight, but it's raining now! So I'd
say rain chances for those getting rain right now? 100%. SCIENCE!
And there might be even better news next week, as CPC has greatly increased
odds of above normal precipitation across the state for next week.
What else is there to say? Summer's got you, Babe.
Sorry. I had to do it.
