Summer sits on a throne of lies
For the record, the 48 degrees at the Camargo Mesonet site this morning was the
third lowest temperature ever recorded on any July 24 in Oklahoma, dating back to
the late 1880s. Here's a quick top-10 of the lowest historical July 24 temps to
punctuate the unusually cold weather for late July.

Have to note that there were four other Mesonet readings this morning that
just missed the top 10, with Butler, Erick, Eva and Seiling all coming in at
52 degrees.
Now here's a look at the historical record lows (minus those set this morning)
for July 24.
For those NWS COOP sites, at least 10 tied or broke their all-time record lows
for July 24. Oklahoma City got into the act by lowering their record low for
this date by 2 degrees, from 61 in 1970 to 59 this morning.
Enjoy it whilst you can. Summer WILL be back. And it might stay awhile.
But before you feel bad...it's better to set those types of records than these!
