Just a quick Thanksgiving Tick as we all tock about turkey and dressing and
football and Tums. Pretty boring weather this week, which is good considering
so many travel for the holiday. It's gonna be a bit on the seasonable side and
pretty windy over today and much of tomorrow, then a chance of rain across
eastern Oklahoma Thursday night and Friday. Then we see another big honking cold
front this weekend. After a bit of a scare, looks like it will be a mostly dry
front. Here are some helpful graphics from our local NWS friends to point the
way.
Tulsa reminds us of possible fire danger as the winds pick up with dry air already
in place. After the hard freezes of the past couple of weeks, the vegetation
is nice and dead/dormant, waiting for a spark.
"A strong cold front will pass through the region on Sunday.
Temperatures ahead of the front will be mild with gusty winds.
Once the front passes, temperatures will be sharply colder along
with strong northerly winds. The persistent gusty winds will raise
the potential for any wildfires to spread quickly."
Maybe some changes in a week or so from now, but for now, borrrriiinngggg!
Gobble gobble.
