Line em up!
Forget Mother Nature, friends. Russel Westbrook is angry, and spring storm
season is sure to follow. No triple-doubles for us, just triple storms. The
atmosphere is basking in warmth. Add moisture. Stir. It now appears systems are
lined up to visit the state starting Thursday into Friday, Sunday, then again on
Tuesday(ish). And then maybe a couple more after that! It's way too early to put
specifics on the latter storms, but tomorrow's is starting to look like a
typical spring severe weather setup here in the Plains. The Panhandle gets theirs
first, then the rest of the state gets a bit on Friday.
As you can see on the maps, the amount of svr weather and the types are still a
bit uncertain. No shock there. Everything will become more clear the day of each
risk. Then we turn to Sunday for storm #2.
From the Tulsa NWS discussion:
"Depending on how far north the true warm front lifts during this
time and if storms can become surface based, an enhanced tornado
threat would be possible, primarily across far southeast Oklahoma."
I cut to the chase there. Much weather geekiness omitted. Still LOTS of
uncertainty for Sunday, and even more so for Tuesday(ish). But the pattern is
clearly starting to shape up as more active, and that means more rain. Hopefully.
I know severe weather is not a good thing, but it's a fact of life here in
Oklahoma. If you want moisture during the spring, you're going to put up with
some severe weather with it.
This ain't gonna cut it.
And neither is this.
Give it to us straight, Russel. We can take it.
