Mayarch
Mother Nature, in her infinite wisdom (insanity), decided to let us do without
a winter this year (YAYYYY!!) but apparently she felt bad so she's trying to bring
it back for spring. As you can see from the historical record lows for May 3rd and
the actual lows today from the Mesonet, some areas got pretty darned close to
those record lows (BOOOOO!!!)
Why does May need to feel like March? Mayarch? Marchay? Heck if I know. All I do
know is that I don't like it. And oh by the way, yesterday was no spring paradise
either!
Now we are promised more springy weather coming up, along with a chance of storms
early next week. Well, not promised, but chances are tilted in that favor.
Now whether that means another bout with severe weather, that remains to be
seen, as explained by the Tulsa NWS forecasters:
"Thunderstorm chances will return by the latter part of the weekend
and especially into early next week as an upper level trough of
low pressure moves into the Plains. Moisture return ahead of the
system will be sufficient to bring severe weather potential to the
region. However, the quality of available moisture still remains
uncertain, and as such the magnitude of the overall severe event
remains uncertain as well at this time."
So they're certainly uncertain about the certainty of...heck, I lost myself.
My advice, since you didn't ask for it: enjoy the week. We don't get many
tranquil stretches like this in early May. I mean Mayarch.
