Ho hum
As far as early Septembers go, this one is about as boring as it gets, I reckon.
But this is not too uncommon for this time of year. We are lucky that we had a
nice cool down from this weekend's cold front, but that is starting to fade and
the temperatures are going to go on arising ... no bad moons, however (Creedence
fans will get it).
The local NWS offices point out the mundane nature of the upcoming weather. Heck,
it's so mundane, Amarillo didn't even bother to put out a graphic!
That heat dome depicted in the Tulsa graphic also shows up on the 7-day rainfall
forecast as a ring of color around a white Oklahoma.
CPC thinks the warmth will continue, or at least keep increased odds of above
normal temperatures for the Sept. 11-17 time frame, with maybe normal to above-
normal rainfall.
So with temps on the rise and rain starting to look iffy for awhile, the only
thing arising might be more drought concerns. Tomorrow's map will show that
concern, unfortunately.
