Welcome to the party, Panhandle!

I think that calls for a party, no? Check out the updated rain totals for the
last few days and you can see the great results up north.

So much of the eastern Panhandle received from 1.5 to over 3 inches of rain. The
rains reached down to the south as well and even hit southwestern Oklahoma with a
drop or two. Not quite as good as the Panhandle and far northwest, but still
some moisture.

That rain last night once again makes our new U.S. Drought Monitor map a bit
anti-climactic, considering there was an increase in the D4-Exceptional drought
up in the Panhandle. Once again, this map only takes into account rain that fell
up through Tuesday morning. Next week's map will reflect the rains from the last
couple of days.

I think we can expect some colors to change on next week's map, especially up in
the far northwest. The good news is that the rain ain't over. There will still
be chances for rain today through tonight, and then on through the weekend. And
possibly even a good chance mid-week next week! Now all we have to do is funnel
some of that down to the southwest and we will have statewide relief.
