Here comes spring!
Has everybody gotten a chance to see the comet over the last couple of nights? Not
quite as spectacular as advertised, but still pretty cool nonetheless. In case
you missed it, I managed to snap a picture from my house.
Scratch free! I managed to task some time on the Hubble telescope (the Ticker
Staff has great connections) for a closer look and spotted this:
Now I don't know what Bruce Willis is doing up there, since this comet wasn't a
danger to earth, but I wish they had sent him BEFORE he made that last "Die Hard"
movie. Ugh. That was even more disappointing than the comet.
But let's talk spring! Spring has sprung, or is about to. Last year at this time
we were a couple of months into spring already, but Mother Nature has kept us a
bit cooler a bit longer this year. Let's take a look at the forecast highs from
the NWS and see what the next few days will bring us.
Looks like we're in for some lovely 70s and 80s on Thursday and Friday before a
front late on Saturday cools us back down again. Normal highs this time of year
are generally in the low 60s across the state, so we're about to be significantly
above normal for a few days.
Unfortunately, it looks like we might be dry through this period as well.
March has actually been fairly dry across the state for the first half or so
of March, so we need to keep that momentum up that we saw during February.
You should have good comet-viewing weather over the next few days as it begins
to fade away. If you take to time to look, be sure to wave to Bruce!
