A Message from the Heavens

What would the West Wind say
To frame his role today?
Perhaps he would say
on this crystal day

That his work today
Pushed the haze away

And then he would stop

And look you in the eye to say
"You can see a long way, today.

So go do it."

Obligatory 11/11/11 Reference

It is our annual duty as Oklahoma climate folks to remind one and
all that 97 years ago today, the record maximum temperature for
today's date (83F) was set early in the afternoon.

The record stands today.

A few hours later, Oklahoma City's record low for the date (11F)
was set.

That record also stands today.

The Great Blue Norther of 11/11/1911 wasn't just confined to
Oklahoma. This was a massive cold frontal assault (hint:
Erie, PA also set its record high and low on Nov 12, 1911)
