Panhandle Rain: Few, Far Between, Frugal
The following map paints a compelling picture of the ongoing dryness
in the central and western panhandle:
That's right: it's been 206 days since the Boise City Mesonet site has
recorded 1/4" or more of rainfall on any one day (that's mid-September).
In fact, if it weren't for December's far-from-majestic 0.28" total,
no *month* during the period has even exceeded the quarter-inch
threshold.
All of northwest Oklahoma has been quite dry recently, but recent rains
have helped (a little bit) east of about Guymon. For the rest of the
panhandle, dry times continue.
