Good To Be Back

The Ticker should return to a fairly regular delivery beginning this
week.  Thanks to my friend and co-worker Gary McManus for filling in
this month, and for writing such a colorful Ticker birth announcement.


Still No 100 at OKC

Tulsa managed to top the 100 mark twice this summer, but the Oklahoma
City station at Will Rogers Airport has yet to make it above its 2002
maximum of 99 F.  Since 1950 at OKC, only nine years made it to
August 26th without tapping triple-digit temps.  Of those nine, eight
finished the calendar without hitting the century mark.  The exception
was 1989, when a late heat wave gave the City its first triple-digit
temperature on September 1st.
