Ticker Staff Increases by One!
Substitute Ticker Staff here, proclaiming a hearty "Congratultations" to
the Ticker Staff for the birth of a bouncing baby Ticker Staff! Somehow,
during Derek's minute-to-minute updates on Boise City rainfall amounts
and Durant's windspeeds, he managed to have a baby.
Spencer Marshall Arndt was delivered into the world last night a bit earlier
than forecast (Derek is a climatologist, not a forecaster). Kudos to Derek
for his homage to the Oklahoma Mesonet - naming his son after a couple of
central Oklahoma Mesonet stations. Someday, Spencer Marshall will be
thankful his Dad isn't from western Oklahoma, or he might have been saddled
with "Buffalo Slapout."
Mother is doing fine, and baby is doing as well as could be expected for
such an early entrance into the world. Things will be bumpy for a few
months, but here's hoping only the best for Derek, his wife, and baby
Spencer.
