Wind Chill is Back!

As the jet stream makes its way back to our part of the world, it brings
many things: standard time, dormant lawns, snowflakes. Perhaps the most
anticipated wintertime return is the Mesonet wind chill map. It begins
its half-year reign over the heat index map today! You can find it
in the "Data Plots" subsection of the "Current Maps" section of each
Mesonet data page.


Speaking of Wind Chill ...

There's something in the air today. It's called "Kansas". Strong
winds associated with a powerful cold front have kicked up dust across
the southern Great Plains. Temperatures have already dipped into the
40s in northern Oklahoma, with wind chill values in the 20s!
