A River Runs Through It

A quick glance at a visible satellite image reveals what looks to
be almost wall-to-wall cloud coverage:



But a closer look at Nebraska and western Iowa reveals traces that
look an awful lot like the Platte River system, among others.  In
these regions, the white stuff isn't cloudiness, it's snowcover!
