Lord of the Heat

Arise, arise, Riders of Oklahoma!
Thermometers shall be shaken, records shall be splintered!
A heat-day, a red day, ere the sun sets!
Bake now, bake now, bake!
Bake for misery and the air conditioner’s ending!

Heat! Heat! Heat!

Forth, Oklahomans!

Okay, like I said yesterday, way too fortuitously (whoaaaaa...I can't believe I
spelled that right the first time!), the record highest temperature to beat today
is 112F once again. We tied it yesterday, can we beat it today with a bit of
compressional heating along a weak frontal boundary?

But congrats to Kingfisher yesterday on their 112F yesterday. Or condolences
(rats, that one I got spell-checked on) are probably in order.

And yesterday was the hottest day we've seen in the state since July 19, 2022,
with a statewide average high temp of 107.1F. The former was 109.2F, so not
sorry we fell short of that one! Both are still looking up to Aug. 2, 2011's
110F statewide average, but nobody wants to revisit that summer either.

We won't reach those heights today because of aforementioned (English to Okie
dictionary: "that there deal I was talking about earlier" frontal boundary
bringing NW OK and the Panhandle back to just "really hot" territory from
ZOUNDS!" territory. And that's also how we'll transform tomorrow into that
regional as well.

But the ZOUNDS weather will be back shortly.

Sorry, that elusive first big cold front as we go through next week just isn't
showing up yet.

And trust me...some are searching harder than others!

We wants it.

We needs it.

The nasty heat keeps it away from us!

But the cold front… yes… the cool, lovely cold front…

Our preciousssss.

It comes to us, doesn’t it, precious?
It must come to us.

We hates the heat.
We hates it FOREVER!
