Do not adjust your sets

You've seen it all over the intranets, about how not only are we gonna see a
pattern change next week from droughty fireness to more wet and stormy, but
actually transported back to the times when arks were being constructed, and
people we're marching different boxes of Pop-Tarts on two-by-two.
In the immortal words of George Costanza, when his fiance Susan told him she
didn't like the name "Seven" for their first born: "Okay, let's just stay calm
here! DON'T GET ALL CRAZY ON ME!"
Hey, it's Mickey Mantle's number...it's a living tribute!
Anyway, I think we can definitely say that the pattern is gonna switch to a more
favorable regime for showers and storms, and maybe several rounds. But remember
these two things...our oft-used reminder of predicting the particulars of storm
systems when they're still a week or more out in the face of chaos.

And secondly, seeing favorable forecasts for rain 7-10 days out often fizzle
out during droughts. I mean, that's how droughts work.
Two very important pieces of wisdom. Again, in the immortal words of Brad
Hamilton in "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" to Spicoli and his buddies:

However, at least some of those rain chances are starting to show up on the
7-day forecast for at least (again with the least??) some confidence in a bit
of moisture.

Our friends at the Amarillo NWS office talk about it in this here info-graphic.

One obvious change will be in the fire-weather environment, where we lose some
of the bone-dry air and add some more humidity (although my bones are still
wet, I hope...if they're dry then I have a problem). That will be a welcome
switch from what we've dealt with over the last 10 days.

It is definitely a switch in the pattern, but those uncertainties remain.
