Hot humbug

For those that want snow leading up to Christmas, now you can say what I used to
when looking at the top of my head decades ago: "WE NEED A MIRACLE!"

And how's that working out for (me) ya?

Heck, what about just FEELING like Christmas-time? Well, we can help you with that
this weekend, at least for a couple of days. But after that...well, not so much.

Okay, how about ONE day feeling like Christmas-time?

That's what happens when you get these back-door cold fronts (and we all know j
just how painful THAT can be!) that come in from the northeast instead of the
northwest...they pull away pretty quickly and allow the warm air back in. But,
in these country-divided air mass situations where the western half is
dominated by a ridge and the eastern half by a trough, being on the dividing
line will allow some of these dry cold fronts to slip through from time to time,
like we'll see this weekend. Unfortunately, they're usually dry, too, and danged
if we aren't DRY again.

But like I said Monday, and still true today, nothing much coming soon.

So we're two weeks out from Christmas Eve, and it looks warm mostly. Here's the
deal, though...that's fantasy-cast territory, which means things can certainly
turn around by then, IF you want some real wintry weather. It doesn't look good
for now, but each day will bring that forecast a bit more into focus, and the
possibility for a pattern change as well.

Not for the top of my head, however, but that's okay. I asked for a hat for
Christmas.
