I know, I know...you need rain, am I right? Well, some of us have REAL problems.

I got laid off when they closed that asbestos factory, now wouldn't you know it,
the Army cuts my disability pension because they said the plate in my head wasn't
big enough. I didn't really want to ask you, but can you maybe, spare a little?
I don't need 52,000 inches, just an inch or so would do for now.

Heck, it's raining right now for crying out loud!

But yes, we do need the rain, with much of the state now going on more than 2
weeks without a good drenching, and even longer in SW OK.

Now before you say it's usually dry this time of year anyway, first off realize
that I can't hear you. That's not how the internet works and frankly I'm
shocked you're talking to imaginary people like that.

And thirdly, we don't get seconds around here.

Regardless of how dry it "usually" is to end August and those first couple of
weeks of September, a certain amount of rain is expected to try and keep ahead
of demand, and we're failing at that.

Okay, northwestern Oklahoma, you know what you do when you achieve all your
rainfall dreams to end summer?

Keep it to yourself.

For SW OK, they received a gift recently in the form of some heavy showers.
Much too localized to stave off drought in that area, but it's a start for
some.

Now we suffer the slings and arrows (remember, 2012 Kia Optima? No air
conditioner?) of summer for a couple-three more days, and then the temps calm
down just a bit as those rain chances go up.

Hey, the windshield wipers are working, at least!

For now.
