The rain is out there
I *DO* want to believe, it just doesn't always work out that way. For example:
*I WANTED to believe the hype about OU's offensive line last year
*I WANTED to believe that that hair in the sink was just an anomaly
*I WANTED to believe that I'd have a normal day after eating that Taco Bell
What'd I get? NOTHING BUT HEARTACHES (and other aches on that last one). But we
do need that rain, belief or not, because we're in the midst of another bit of a
dry spell (which is much less fun than being in the midst of another bit 'o honey).
Enough so that the amount of Abnormally Dry (D0) conditions on the U.S. Drought
Monitor map for Oklahoma QUADRUPLED!!! Okay, from 1% to 4%, but it's a thang.
So obviously, we're in need of that rain, especially down in SW OK. Heck, it's
raining right now, for crying out loud!
Also a good thang, we're on the backside of a cold front, and a rather strong
one at that for this time of year. Well, most of us, that is. SW OK will still
swelter today, but they'll get theirs tomorrow.
Remember, summer roars back next week, so it's imperative (English to Okie
dictionary: "pretty darned important") that we enjoy this rain and cooler
weather. We might not see it again until October!
