Fall trailer

Sure, I could have led with scarier images, like this:

Or this:

OR THIS:

OR EVEN THIS:

YEEEEAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!

Hey, "YEEEEAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!" was my band's name at Stockard Channing
High school, but that's not important right now. What IS important is dangerous
heat continues for most of us for two more days, and for some of us continuing
on Thursday.

And then relief. Sweet, sweet relief. Relief so relieving that you'll be
relieved that the relief is actually real. And you'll need all that
relievification after the next 2 (3) days.

How about this morning in OKC and Tulsa, where there low temperatures remained
several degrees above their surrounding neighbors, a sure sign of the Heat
Island effect.

All that concrete and asphalt absorbs the sun's energy all day, then it re-emits
it as infrared energy, or sensible heat. And it continues to emit that sensible
heat overnight, keeping it warmer than the surrounding area, where grass and
other vegetation stay relatively cooler, NOT acting as a source of heat energy.

What else keeps areas cool? Rain, of course, and the clouds that come with it...
the one sure way to get cooler-than-normal weather during the dog days (I prefer
cats...FIGHT ME!) of summer.

Doesn't look like a ton of rain, but those clouds though. 👩‍🍳👄

Oh, and how about 60s (and a few 70s) for lows Saturday morning??

59, Goodwell? Are you kidding me, Private Pyle??

So for one or two days, enjoy a nice Fall preview, that'll be showing up for
real for two days in October, before an ice storm on Halloween, then back up
into the 90s.

Hey, it could happen!
