A hunnert

"Another One Hits the Heat"
(to the tune of "Another One Bites the Dust")

Ooh, the sun’s creepin’ up and the air is dry,
Sunday’s lookin’ like we’re gonna fry—
Boom! Feels like a pizza crust,
Yeah, another one hits the heat!

Hey! Temps climbin' fast and the AC’s toast,
Shade is gold and we’re startin' to roast—
Crack! There goes another street,
Mmm, another one hits the heat!

Well what did you expect? Mozart? Beethoven? Bananarama?

The greats.

That's about as much creativity I can muster for a Friday, and you're lucky
it's not 100 today because it saved you from a "Fryday" pun. But we still have
"Sun-day," but I won't go there.

Oklahoma's possible foray into triple-digits this weekend would be a bit early.
We didn't see a hunnert last year until May 20 when Altus hit 100, and even that
was right on course for Altus' normal date for their first 100 of May 19. So a
bit of a rarity for an April 13 eruption. And that's if we don't see one
Saturday. It's possible, but maybe not quite getting there.

And then a cooldown before we're back in the frying pan eventually.

At least some rain showing up finally.

Know what else is showing up? THE SECOND PART OF MY SONG!

Sorry. Enjoy your weekend.

Cows stand still in the prairie haze,
Lookin' like they’re stuck in a microwave—
Fans on high, but it can’t compete,
With another one hittin' the heat!

Yeah, eggs fryin’ right there on the hood,
Kids in the pool yell “this ain't good!”
Pavement soft and your shoes might sink—
Man, this heatwave’s on the brink!

They said, “Cold front’s comin’ down from the plains…”
But it stalled out somewhere near Lincoln again—
Radar teasin’, clouds just flee,
It's 101 and we're beggin' for reprieve!

No breeze, no shade, just that oven air,
Forecast sayin’ “Hotter still? Don’t you dare!”
We keep watchin’ skies that cheat—
Still another one hits the heat…

Yeah yeah.
