Steamed please

Not a lot of Ticking today, so here's just a bit of Tocking. How'd you like the
heat yesterday? Come on, you know what I'm Tocking about, especially down in
SW OK. So we had those highs in the upper 90s to low hunnerts (Okie to English
translation: hundreds), and dewpoints in the upper 70s to low 80s, which with the
power vested in me by Braum's and the third wind turbine from the left out by
Weatherford, as State Climatologist...I'm declaring this nonsense way too early.

Sure, later in June and into July. But the first week of June? And that 113 heat
index at Grandfield yesterday was the highest heat index we've seen in the state
since Idabel and Broken Bow hit 115 and 114, respectively, since Sept. 6, 2023.
And that was pretty wimpy for last year. And I know wimpy...I've had sand kicked
in my face at beaches all over the world! Okay, just at Ft. Supply Lake. I never
should have taken that kid's pacifier.

Amember this?

That's the extreme of extremes for Oklahoma, but we don't want to be anywhere
close to that. Unfortunately and fortunately, we won't be up that high again
for awhile. Unfortunately that we will see some pretty hefty air temperatures
through the weekend. Fortunately that we won't have that type of humidity. But
we will still see highs flirting with 100, and heat indexes flirting with
105+.

Rain? Seriously, rain? Haven't we had enough?

Well...some have. There's wheat to be harvested, ya know.
