So I went out yesterday to look at the eclipse but I realized I never switched
over from Daylight Savings Time, so I set my alarm for the 2025 eclipse instead.
That type of genius quick thinking is exactly why I've been named to the "Who's
Who of Who Cares Who You Think You Are" list for 2024!

Jealous? I thought so.

So you see the forecast above for the next 48 hours, with the rains expected to
fall over the next, uhhhhhhh, 2 days. Well, "expected" is always dicey. Let's just
stick with forecast. Heck, it's raining right now for crying out loud!

You'd think that large blob of rain out in the Texas Panhandle would shift to the
north and hit NW OK, but it really fizzles out as it heads that way, unfortunately.
No real severe weather threats showing up except for far SE OK as this large
upper-level low pressure system meanders its way through the Southern Plains over
the next couple of days.

Here's the deal, though...we need lots of rain just about everywhere, but
especially across northern and western OK where those deficits continue to
mount over the long haul.

So we hope we see that rain spread farther to the north, but it doesn't look
good. And I know doesn't look good...I have mirrors, ya know!

Here are some sights from the Mesonet Eclipse Experience from yesterday, NOT
destined to be the next great Disney ride.

The Ardmore Meteogram:

Solar radiation map from totality yesterday at 1:45 p.m.

The 1-hour temperature change showing how the temps dropped without the full
power of the sun.

And last but not least, the view of totality from our Mesonet Tech and Master
Photographer, Steve Thompson, yesterday at the Valliant Mesonet site.
