We're back!
I hate to start our welcome back from our Spring Break break on such a downer, but
I do have something fairly serious to discuss. Sometimes, in the course of our
everyday events, there are things that can upset us, but then there are things
that shake us to our very core. This is one of these days. You see, I watched a
program on Amazon Prime yesterday that has me very VERY upset.
"Road House."
No, not the 1989 version, with the amazing Patrick Swayze as John Dalton, the
erstwhile Philosopher/Bouncer that immortalized lines such as "pain don't hurt,"
and "opinions vary."
But then, somebody comes along with the temerity (Pompous to English translation:
gall {English to Okie tranlation: cockiness}) to think something as close to
perfection as the original...needs improved upon?
I won't go on much longer (pausing for your applause to end), but let's just
say Jake Gyllenyllenellenhall is a poor (nay, completely inadequate) replacement
for Swayze. And no Wade Garrett character (as if you could get somebody as
exquisite as Sam Elliott. GUFFAW!! We won't even start on the lack of a Jeff
Healey slinging those Blues behind the chicken wire.
Okay, Siskel and Ebert (google, kids) mode off. Hey, this is science, dang it!
Now for more bad news.
Winter.
It'ssssss baaaaaaaaaaack!
Not only has snow fallen in the Panhandle, it's also colder than BLANK.
Heck, it's snowing (and raining) right now, for crying out loud!
So if that front isn't through your area just yet, go out and enjoy the 50s while
they last. It's coming.
Now we will see temperatures rebound back into spring mode, but you're gonna
have to wait for the end of the week.
However, until then, we have the current freeze advancing southeast through the
state, then a freeze tomorrow morning and again on Wednesday and Thursday. Some
places will see a hard freeze...others, not quite as bad--or no freeze at all.
That's okay though (it's not really, but humor me). We're still a week or three
away from our average last spring freeze.
That Friday though!
Not much in the way of moisture coming up in the next week, so those that missed
out will unfortunately have to wait a bit longer.
Another unfortunate remake currently in the works? The flash drought developing
across northwestern Oklahoma.
At least it'll get warm again. No use fighting over it.
Nobody ever wins a fight.
