Problems

You know why the math book was so depressed?

Because it had a lot of problems.

Our problems, aside from that joke? Severe winds, large hail, and maybe a
brief tornado. Exactly, springtime in Oklahoma. This doesn't appear to be a
high- or even medium-end severe weather event, but it is sorta our first of 2024,
at least this broad of a threat. And the tornado threat is very low, but not zero,
much like my head of hair.

Heck, it's storming right now for crying out loud!

As we've detailed in previous Tickers this week, despite the severe threat, we
do need the rain as we're on the verge of flash drought.

In fact, we had a bit more of an increase in "Abnormally Dry Conditions" (D0--
yellow color) on the new U.S. Drought Monitor map, signifying the possibility
of drought should rainfall not occur and pretty soon.

Rainfall, ya say? Well, I *AM* on the road today at the Oklahoma Emergency
Management conference speaking on drought, with a pretty good chance of rain.

So you invite a bunch of Emergency Managers to a conference, it storms.

You invite a drought expert (or whatever it is I am), it rains.

My advice, never go to a proctologist conference.

Oh yes, the rain. Well, more in the east, less in the southwest. Shocker.

Shocker? How about some snow!

So stay alert today. Tune into your favorite media source and avail yourself of
their storm trackers, and plug into your local NWS office for the most up-to-date
info, watches and warnings.
