Well what do you want me to say?
No, seriously, I'm blocked (and we all know just how painful that can be). I don't
know about you (what IS it about you, anyway??), but I've had enough of talking
about snow, ice, and frigid weather. Enough to last me a whole January, in fact!
Maybe it's that I got stoned TWICE this month. No no no, the hardest stuff I take
is WHOLE chocolate milk, if I'm feeling really edgy. I'm talking stoned of the
kidney and gallbladder variety. But there was also the coldest weather we had
seen since Feb. 2021 earlier this month, then a week or so without sunshine,
complete with a up to a third of an inch of freezing rain.
Check out these 2024-thus-far statewide average departure from normal avg. temps
and percent possible sunshine graphs (give me a longer title if you can!) for
proof!
A change is coming, of course. It IS Oklahoma, after all. We should see a mild
cold front for the weekend with an increased chance of rain.
We'll be well into February by then. February, along with August often thought
of as the Monday of months in Oklahoma. Nobody really enjoys it, which is why
we get 29 days of it this year. It can get cold. REALLY cold (2011, 2021,
2031?). But I don't see any hint of that just yet, so why worry about it?
Just enjoy THIS week!
