One lump or two?
Really though, we should be thankful for ANY rain that falls this time of year.
Or snow.
Yeah, don't break out the sleds just yet. My only complaint...well, the only one
I'm giving you now. It isn't Festivus quite yet. But my only complaint is that...
does it HAVE to happen on the last day of the month whilst I'm climatizing away
trying to compile the monthly statistics? I mean, if I was FINALLY elected as the
Master of All Time and Space (who keeps voting for Taylor Swift??), the first
thing I'd do is make it illegal for any precipitation to fall on the last day of
the month.
Wait, that's the SECOND thing I'd do. First thing...immediate flea infestations
for cars going slow in the left lane on the interstate.
Wait, THAT is the second thing I'd do. First thing...Pop-Tart tacos for all!
Cherry, of course.
But here's the deal...while we're thankful for any precip that falls, we sure
could use more. Hence, the lump of coal. And that's the only precip I see in
the forecast for the next 7-10 days...whichever comes first. Math! We sorely
need moisture across parts of the state.
El Nino? El NiNO I guess thus far, at least for typical impacts. But hey, NW
OK has definitely seen enhanced snowfall thus far for November (and a tiny bit
in late October). They are getting a jump start on their "normal" seasonal
snowfall totals with 6-8 inches already this year.
For example, the snowy tundra of Buffalo (yes, Oklahoma...and yes, the hometown
of the most awesome current Oklahoma State Climatologist...humble, too!) as
pictured (as in, taking a picture) by our Mesonet Technician as he visited the
site yesterday.
WARNING: Big picture. Non-warning...perhaps I titled it poorly. Don't worry,
it is safe for work. The Ticker usually isn't safe for anywhere, given the
insanity and all.
All talk of snow will have to be shelved for awhile. Right, shelving not
shoveling, because the temps are on their way up after this brief cool down
today and tomorrow because of the clouds and rain and snow and whatnot.
And beyond.
