Fryday

What can I say...no, seriously, what can I say? Ummmm, how about today is going
to "be very bad, disagreeable, or disgusting." That's the dictionary.com
definition of "suck." I didn't want to be that informal or crude, ya know. But
as Samuel L. Jackson (or Samuel L. Jackson to his friends) once said about an
Oklahoma summmer..."I HAVE HAD IT WITH THESE 115-DEGREE HEAT INDEXES IN THIS
STATE!" Hey, you can insert any expletives you want in that quote!

Heck, we might even approach some record high (actual) temps, for crying out loud!
(Sorry, rainfall...I had to use that phrase).

Dry heat I can handle. In fact, there's something very comforting in walking out
of a highly air conditioned building into the blast furnace heat...at least for
a few minutes. I *DO NOT* get that same pleasure from walking out of a highly
heated building in mid-winter into the bracing cold air. That problem doesn't
appear likely for Oklahoma until maybe Halloween, which is almost guaranteed
to be cold. But we do have a cooldown coming Monday after a pressure cooker
of a weekend.

We will have occasional cooldowns when a front can slip through here, but the
outlook for the next couple of weeks is HOT! Hopefully that heat dome will
weaken and shift west a bit more and allow a few MORE of those fronts.

Now it doesn't say HOW hot (or dry) that period will be, but that the odds
are significantly increased for warmer than normal weather (and similar-but-lesser
odds of drier than normal). But warmer than normal in August is HOT!
