Just a little bit

Well, just as expected the rainfall didn't add up to much, but if you were one of
the lucky ones that did see some adding up to, uhhhhh, much...best keep it to
yourself. BOTH the moisture AND the news, lest you anger your neighbors.

Some folks were unlucky enough to get lucky to see hail as there was some severe
weather last night, and I say unlucky enough to get lucky since if you want rain
in Oklahoma during the spring, you take the good with the bad. For example, this
little severe storm yesterday approaching our Mangum Mesonet site (photo courtesy
of one of our magnificent Mesonet Technicians, Steve Thompson).

More of the same today with a few folks getting some rainfall, and amounts
appear--as shown above--to probably amount to "just a little bit." There is a
marginal chance for severe weather today, but nothing we can't handle for a
little moisture.

I'm afraid that's it. There will be another chance for rain later in the week
with some unknown chance of severe weather, but as of now it also doesn't appear
to amount to much more than "just a little bit." That can definitely change,
however.

Temperatures will remain steady in spring mode, just a bit warmer than normal,
with a cold front following those rain chances later this week. But we'll drop
back into early spring mode for a couple of days, NOT late winter.

So a very boring weather pattern for the most part, when a very non-boring
pattern is needed. Woe to those that want an exciting spring in Oklahoma
weather, but again...the bad with the good is sometimes necessary.
