I'M 55!
So we DIDN'T get our cut-off low pressure system over Oklahoma all this week ("cut-
off low, forecaster's woe"), so bye-bye to our cooler- and wetter-than-normal
weather for the next seven days. It's not all bad...at least some folks got some
good (and not-so-good due to the flooding) rains over the last couple of days.
A mid-level trough, a cold front, and some strong heating today all should
combine for another chance of storms today, and while it's not the widespread
1-2 inches we were hoping for, there should be a good chance for some moisture,
"SOME" moisture, for nearly all through tomorrow morning. Once that's by, our
widespread rain chances will go away and we'll be left with slight chances of
showers and storms each day, and also a return to seasonable summer heat. No,
not yesterday type heat, which was right back to mid-July levels.
I know, right? Nasty. If you did anything outside yesterday, you were ready to
head back to the A/C in a hurry. As for today's storms, there will be a chance
of a bit of severe weather, much like last night, with some wind and a bit of
hail here and there.
But again, don't expect a big cool-off with the front tomorrow. It's more of
a weak cool front...upper 80s and low 90s. Again, seasonable.
For Oklahoma State's football game Thursday night, looks like mid-80s at game
time, maybe falling into the upper 70s by the time it's over. No rain, maybe
a few clouds.
For the OU game mid-afternoon Saturday...a furnace with mostly sunny skies and
highs in the low-to-mid 90s.
Don't worry Sooner fans, we'll work Coach Venables in somehow this week!
