DroughtFlayer
In a really bad sequel if you've already had enough rain (and a much-awaited
follow up if you haven't), we have yet another setup for heavy rain with a sagging
cold front (and we all know just how painful that can be) that's gonna sit over
the state for a couple of days, generating showers and storms. So the setup is
for storms to form along that front over the next couple of days and with the
atmosphere "as it is" (worst Shakespeare play ever!), those storms could train
over the same area again and again, dumping lots of heavy rain. We already have
flood watches up across that part of the state for those heavy rains over the
next couple of days.
BUT WAIT!
Okay, are ya back? Okay. You can't have spring storms without some sort of pain
to go with it. We will have a change of severe weather today and tomorrow. Now
all modes of severe weather are possible, but the tornadic threat is actually
pretty darned low. But not zero. At least today...tomorrow, almost nil as it
looks now. But big hail and severe winds are the major threat both days.
You can see the front now as it slowly sags to the south, perched right now
across NW OK.
So ahead of the front, you have warm, moist air, and behind the weather cools
considerably. That's the setup for the next couple of days before all get to
enjoy a bit of cooler weather on Thursday.
We'll warm up after that, but we will talk about that in a future episode.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
We'll also cool down again.
