When's the game?
The smell of pumpkins is in the air! Pull down the sweaters and put the swim
trunks (Okie to English translation: "shorts") back in the bottom drawer. FALL
IS COMING ON FRIDAY! Nah, too late for spring. Spring was killed by the heat
dome. You no what spring did its first 2.5 months in Oklahoma? Counterintelligence.
Spring's gone. There is no spring.
Now, DID YOU ORDER THE CODE RED!
Hey, if Mother Nature can give us a boatload of 100s in May, then give us 60s
for highs and 40s for lows, then I can act out "A Few Good Men" meteorologically!
Is meteorologically even a word? Well, it is now.
All funning aside, spring will be back this weekend and early next week. And it
looks like there is some good rain coming with it, especially Monday and
Tuesday.
That's day 6-7 though, and that's getting out there a bit in forecast ability.
No, not quite fantasy-cast...more like possibly-wrong-cast. But there are
indications of a storm system in that time frame. Still no bigtime severe
weather outbreaks showing up. Now there will be chances over the next few days,
but we're talking mostly a severe wind threat. The Panhandle gets today's turn.
Sure looks like a June-ish type pattern to me with storms firing up in the High
Plains and headed southeast, sometimes dying before they get to central and
eastern OK.
This ain't your Grandpappy's May for sure.
Watch for record heat today from SW up through central OK.
You want fall?
I want the spring!
YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE SPRING!
