Let's be brief

Okay, we barely have time to Tick, but such a momentous day we just have to Tock.
Our first big cold front of the fall (actually, there were probably bigger ones
during the summer, for crying out loud) is in the state, and boy are our arms
tired. Not sure that works, but we're out of witticisms. This will be the coolest
we've been in the state since last May, so those of you that are looking to get
out the sweaters and drink whatever those pumpkin spice things REALLY are will be
in luck, at least for a couple of days. How does lows in the 40s and 50s and highs
in the 70s sound? Well, doesn't really make a sound so if you answered, you might
be in trouble.

Before the front goes through, however, don't be shocked if we see quite a
blast furnace experience in front of the front (as opposed to in front of the
front of the front, which is just the front of the front...but neither is the
back, right) due to compressional heating. Wouldn't it be wild if TODAY was the
day OKC and other places finally hit 100?

Now for the bad news, or good news if you're not ready for fall. This burst of
the new season will be short-lived since highs will be right back into the 80s
and 90s later this week, and probably stick around for an extended stay.

We also really REALLY need some rain. Not sure this front is going to provide
enough to make a difference, and there's not a lot of chances coming up.
Hopefully we get more than the 7-day rain forecast is showing, because this is
pretty pitiful.

And not exactly promising after that, either.

So there you have it, prepare to fall back to fall for a few days and then
spring back to summer. Never fear, soon it will be the winter of our discontent.
